Creating Audio Waveforms from Audio Files

A waveform image represents the amplitude of an audio signal over time. Our generator supports: MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, M4A, AAC, WebM audio. Processing: decode audio to PCM samples, compute RMS amplitude per time block, render as SVG/PNG. Customization options: width × height (default 1200×300px for social media), bar count (resolution), colors (background + waveform gradient), style (bars, lines, filled area, mirrored). Common uses: podcast episode thumbnails, SoundCloud-style previews, video captions, social sharing.

What file format does the waveform image export in?

Our tool exports waveforms as PNG (lossless raster, works everywhere) and SVG (vector, infinitely scalable). For social media posts use PNG at 1200×628. For web embedding where zoom/scale is needed use SVG. Both formats support transparent backgrounds.
